REFUND POLICY

TrailVault products are shipped directly from our manufacturer partners (dropship). All items are covered by full manufacturer warranties, and our return terms mirror theirs so you're never stuck between us and the manufacturer.

30-Day Return Window

You can return most products within 30 days of delivery, whether due to defects, damage, wrong item shipped, or simply because it's not what you wanted. To qualify:

  • Contact us at joel@trailvault.co within 30 days of receiving your order. We respond within 1 business day.
  • Products must be returned in original packaging, unused, unmodified, and complete with all accessories.
  • A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number is required before shipping anything back. Unauthorized returns may be refused.

7-Day Return Window on Lithium Batteries

Per manufacturer policy, lithium batteries (including all Renogy LiFePO4 batteries in our catalog) have a shorter 7-day return window rather than 30 days. If you're buying a battery, please plan accordingly. Defective or damaged batteries are still covered under the full manufacturer warranty after this window.

Who Pays Return Shipping

  • We cover return shipping for products that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect. Just contact us with photos and we'll issue a prepaid label.
  • Customer pays return shipping for preference-based returns (you changed your mind, wrong size, etc.).

Restocking Fees

A restocking fee of up to 15% may apply to non-defective returns, consistent with our manufacturer partners' policies. Defective, damaged, or incorrect items are exempt from restocking fees.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to your original payment method once the manufacturer confirms receipt and inspection of the return — typically 7-14 business days. Credit card refunds may take an additional 7-10 business days to post to your statement.

Products Not Eligible for Return

  • Items that have been modified, used, or damaged by installation
  • Products outside the return window (though manufacturer warranty may still apply for defects)
  • Custom-configured or personalized items

Exchanges

We don't offer direct product exchanges. Because we ship directly from our manufacturer partners and don't maintain warehouse inventory, we can't swap one item for another. If you'd like a different product, return the original item for refund (per the terms above) and place a new order for your replacement.
