If you were shopping serious home backup power in the AC300 era, two systems came up again and again: the BLUETTI AC300 + B300 and the EcoFlow Delta Pro. Both are LiFePO4-powered, high-capacity units built for real outage preparedness, both landed around $3,500–$3,700 at base configuration, and both earned loyal followings.
But they were built around fundamentally different philosophies — and which one made sense depended entirely on how you planned to use it. This guide lays out the key differences honestly, then points you to the current systems we recommend in their place.

Design Philosophy: All-in-One vs. Modular
This was the most important difference between these two systems — and it shaped everything else.
The EcoFlow Delta Pro is an integrated unit. The inverter and battery live in the same housing, with built-in wheels and a telescoping handle. You pull it out of the box and it's ready to use. It's heavy at 99 lbs, but the wheels make it manageable — it moves like a rolling suitcase.
The BLUETTI AC300 took the opposite approach. The inverter unit contains no battery at all — it's essentially a solar charge controller and inverter in a 47.6 lb box. You connect one or more B300 battery modules separately, each weighing around 80 lbs. The result is a system you can move in pieces, which matters if you're navigating stairs or a tight storage space. The tradeoff is cables, connections, and a footprint that spreads across the floor.
The takeaway: all-in-one simplicity vs. modular flexibility — the same split you'll weigh in any modern power station, whether it's a grab-and-go all-in-one or an expandable, modular design.
Capacity and Power Output
Out of the box, the Delta Pro had a slight edge in raw capacity — 3,600Wh vs. 3,072Wh — and meaningfully more output power: 3,600W continuous vs. 3,000W, with surge wattage of 7,200W vs. 6,000W.
In practical terms, the Delta Pro's higher continuous output meant it could handle heavier loads simultaneously — running a refrigerator, sump pump, lights, and device charging at once without straining the inverter. The 7,200W surge also gave more headroom for motor-driven appliances like well pumps or HVAC compressors that spike on startup.
The AC300's 3,000W continuous output was still highly capable and sufficient for most home backup scenarios. For homes with larger appliances, though, the Delta Pro's extra headroom mattered.

Solar Charging
This is where BLUETTI flipped the script.
The AC300 accepted up to 2,400W of solar input — 50% more than the Delta Pro's 1,600W maximum. Combined with AC charging, the AC300 could take in up to 5,400W simultaneously, versus 4,600W for the Delta Pro.
What that meant practically: during a multi-day outage with solar panels available, the AC300 recharged significantly faster. If you paired your system with a serious solar array — say, 4–6 panels — the BLUETTI system could absorb all of that input. The Delta Pro throttled charging above 1,600W.
Winner: BLUETTI AC300 for solar charging capability.
Expandability
Both systems were expandable — but they went about it differently.
The Delta Pro accepted up to two Smart Extra Battery units, bringing maximum capacity to around 21,600Wh in a dual-unit setup. Pairing two Delta Pros with EcoFlow's Smart Home Panel 2 gave you automatic whole-home backup across up to 10 circuits.
The AC300 connected up to four B300 batteries per inverter unit, reaching 12,288Wh per AC300. Run two AC300 units together with a Fusion Box and you reached 24,576Wh with 240V/6,000W output. Each B300 could also be charged independently of the AC300 inverter, which added operational flexibility.
The takeaway: EcoFlow had the edge for whole-home panel integration; BLUETTI won for maximum raw storage. That grow-as-you-go, modular approach is exactly what an expandable system like the Jackery HomePower 3600 Plus delivers today.
UPS Performance
When grid power dropped, both units switched to battery automatically — but the AC300 did it faster: ≤20ms vs. ≤30ms for the Delta Pro.
In most home backup scenarios this difference is barely perceptible. But for sensitive electronics — network equipment, desktop computers, medical devices — a faster switchover means less risk of disruption or data loss.

At base configuration — Delta Pro vs. AC300 + one B300 — both systems landed around $3,698–$3,699. Where it diverged was expansion: adding capacity to the Delta Pro meant premium Smart Extra Batteries, while the AC300 scaled with B300 modules that were often discounted in bundles.
Winner: BLUETTI AC300 for long-term expansion value.
